Socks and Summer!


 

Socks aren’t just for the winter! Socks should be worn year round!

Socks can prevent feet from becoming sunburned, and will help protect against dust and pollution!

There are more sweat glands per inch in our feet than anywhere else in the body. This is to help regulate body temperature. Wearing shoes without socks can lead to many issues.

 

Smelly Feet:
The underlying reason for smelly feet is bacteria and moisture caused by sweat. Not wearing socks with shoes makes this issue worse. Wearing breathable cotton socks absorbs moisture and reduces odors.


Infections:
Besides making your feet pretty smelly, wearing shoes without socks increases your chances of developing athlete’s foot. Once the feet have been contaminated, the dark, warm, and moist area in the shoe is the perfect breeding ground for fungus.

Lesions:
Damp feet due to sweat can create friction against areas of the shoe, cause chafing and blisters. Blisters are painful, fluid-filled lesions.
 
Not only are socks fun and stylish but they are a benefit to your feet health as well!
